Sally Clark
Statement to Press Association from Sally and Stephen Clark
Thursday 30th January 2003
We would like to thank all the members of the media for their interest in
and support for our case.
We, and all our advisers, are now being besieged with innumerable requests
for interviews. We are sure you will appreciate - as Sally said in her
statement yesterday - that, after more than three years apart, we would
now like an opportunity to rebuild our lives together with our son in peace
and privacy, and away from the media spotlight.
It is not our intention to grant any interviews at this stage, nor do we
want to enter a bidding war as we do not wish to sell our story to anyone,
or collaborate with any programme makers of dramas or documentaries.
Apart from one interview which Stephen recorded with the BBC before the
Appeal Court hearing started for a programme called Cot Death Mothers - the
Witch Hunt, (which the BBC will transmit at 9.50 pm on BBC-2 on Thursday
6th February), we have not entered into any arrangements with any
newspapers, programmes or publications, and at the moment, have no
intention of doing so.
We would very much appreciate it if any media enquiries could be directed in
writing to Sue Stapely at Quiller Consultants, 11-12 Buckingham Gate, SW1E
6LB, fax: 020 7233 6577 and our wishes could be respected at this time.
